I am an Italian mother-tongue translator with excellent English and French skills coming from my education and a five-year life experience abroad in English speaking countries (1999-2001 United States, 2001-2004 Singapore). I am experienced in translating texts different in nature and style always ensuring accurate translations with a natural flow that will meet the expectations of the target Italian audience while respecting the spirit of the original text. I am also a creative writer, so grammar and style are not an issue but rather an asset.Education
Summa cum laude degree from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan, Italy) where I studied Foreign Languages and Literatures (Major in English, specialization in Social Communications). Marketing and Economics courses at Midwestern State University (Wichita Falls, Texas) where I also studied Spanish and perfected my English.Experience
As a student I worked four years as a tourist guide for foreign groups (English and French) at Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci in Milan.
I was employed by the Milanese branch of Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in the Recruiting department where part of my duties was managing the relationship with the equivalent offices in France and Greece.
My translating experience goes back to my days in high school and university when I was required translations of passages of English, American and French novels. During my experience abroad I had to translate numerous documents. I also helped a family business in the correspondence with the suppliers and translated a dentistry reference book for personal use.
Recent translating assignments range from tourism, to religion, website content, real estate, electronic device menus, business advertising, self-improvement and technical courses, XML strings, movie scripts, literary articles and personal and medical documents and forms.
Some essays I translated will appear in the Spring issue of the Italian literary journal Studi Lovecraftiani.
I have recently worked at the localization into Italian of the mobile phone community AirG.
My latest project is the translation of the Discover America USA Travel Guide (both editorials and ads) for Small World Publications. I am now working on their website.
I am also currently busy with the translation of a commercial brochure for a company selling sports equipment.
